Gar-binge

It's portfolio time again. Chateau and I are getting ready to submit our combined work to New York for review. Wish us luck.

Yesterday had us finishing up an ad series for Excedrin. One of the ads features an inbox piled high with papers. In order to create an authentic looking inbox and photograph it, I had to dig through a ton of HBLL white and colored paper bins. Talk about fun! Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE digging through trash! I never know just what I'll find.

Yesterday's findings included copies of journal articles, scientific studies, Arabic and Chinese homework, an article titled "Read This Before Having Sex," the first three pages of Annie Proulx's Brokeback Mountain, and even the first page of a patriarchal blessing. (No, I didn't read it.)

Interesting things they are teaching at BYU these days.

Best of Game

OK. I just got done seeing every one of the Super Bowl ads aired yesterday, and I've made up my mind. My vote for top ad is Sierra Mist's "Airport Security." Strong concept. Strong acting. Funny as TV gets.

What was your favorite Super Bowl ad?

Jamen & Seth live in concert Saturday night at apartment 326.

Twin Falls

It took a while to get these photos, but it was worth the wait. My roommates can ollie like crazy.

Family Ties

I was checking out a book to a girl in the library. After swiping her card I noticed her last name on my computer screen.

Lunt.

Lunt is my grandma's maiden name.

"Are your ancestors from the Mormon colonies in Mexico?" I ask her.

"Yeah." she says.

"Is Henry Lunt in your family tree?" I inquire.

"Yes!" she shouts. "Which wife are you through?"

So it turns out we've got different great-great-grandmas, but we are in fact cousins. And such is life at Brigham Young University. Everyone is family, be it fraternally or biologically. Then sometimes both.

"So, have you read Henry's big, beige biography?"

"No, you?"

"Nope."

It's so totally obvious that we are related.

Happy Flaming-Lips-Soft-Bulletin-Re-Release-in-5.1-Surround-Sound-Day to you too!!

Show 'n' tell

I got a new cell phone. It's black. It's got my same old number. It's T-Mobile. I like it.

I got paid. All in ones. I don't know why. Money is fun!

I got the new 5.1 re-release of "The Soft Bulletin." It's loud! It's by Flaming Lips. This is my most favorite album of all time. Music is good. Just like puppies. I like puppies.
