Barack Obama @ Washington Square Park

Tonight I went to see a rally for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama. I have to say--I was more than a little impressed by his candid spirit. Does this mean I'll vote for him? That remains to be determined. Check out this quote from tonight's speech:

"There are those who are saying you should be looking for someone who can play the game better, but the problem is that the game has been rigged. The time is too serious. The stakes are too high to play the same game over and over again."

I love it when...

...my friend calls me after work to tell me he's got an unexpected layover from China.

And I love it when he happens to come on karaoke night.

Labor Day

For Labor Day my friend Jai Red came up to visit from DC. Because he served his mission in Hong Kong, I just had to take him to Chinatown. The place is a lot more fun when you take someone with you who speaks Cantonese. The Brooklyn Bridge was fun too.

Yeah, this is my roommate.

It's not his proudest moment, but hey, a man's gotta eat.

In the Train

This morning on the train to work I sat down next to Robin De Jesús. Some might know him better as Sonny from the Off-Broadway hit "In the Heights"--my favorite musical.

Robin (left) and I chatted from 96th St. all the way down to 28th St., discussing everything from his family in Puerto Rico to preparations for opening night on Broadway next year. I have the tendency to get over-excited around celebrities, but I think I kept my cool reasonably well. (Of course, it helped that I was the only one on the train who knew who he was.)

Map My Life

I'm in love with this new program that calculates the distance you've traveled as you trace your path on a map. This map here is of my current favorite workout.

After four New York summers, I've finally reached a New York September.
