Home is where the heat is.

Did you know that if you mix powdered sugar with a little fire it will do this? My FHE family taught me.

PS: Yes, that's me blowing fire.

A Conductor, a Vet, and a Chess Master

The Perkins

When my mom came to Utah to study at BYU, this nice couple pictured above hosted her. Us kids have always considered them like our grandparents. (We have six.)

Here they are celebrating Sasha's birthday.

A Place for Hybrids

Yesterday my roommate got confused and started talking about a networking website called Spacebook. I don't know why, but the idea strikes me as hilarious. Anyone wanna start a dot com with me?

חברות, ידידות

This summer I made friends with a Russian Orthodox Jew named Zelig. In two weeks I got to learn more about the Jewish faith than in a lifetime of casual outside observation. It was an unexpected blessing to be able to connect with someone so passionate about a religion so unknown to me. Zelig let me observe the Jewish Sabbath with him and visit several synogogues throughout Brooklyn. I also got a private tour of the Museum of Jewish Heritage where he is a guide. Now that I'm back in Provo I'm taking a class that compares Judaism to Mormonism to further my exploration.

Family Gourd Evening

So this semester I've been called to be a family home evening dad. Last night my kids wanted to carve pumpkins, so carve pumpkins we did. I'll post my jack-o-lantern later for y'all. For now enjoy these pictures of my wife and kids.

Cascade Springing

Today I went on a walk through Cascade Springs with my three amazing nephews. Unfortunately my batteries died before I was able to get a good nature shot. I did, however, get this picture of them at their finest. My poor sister had to keep them from diving into the water.

General Conference Weekend

This weekend I watched conference in four different places: Ty's house in Provo, the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in SLC, the Assembly Hall at Temple Square, and at John's house in Park City. It was a awesome event.

This here is my Venezuelan friend Jhonny. (Yeah, that's where the "h" goes.) He drove out from Wyoming for the big event.

I ♥ Milton Glaser

On Thursday I got to listen to a discussion in the MoA with Milton Glaser, the designer who came up with this famous logo. While there I learned that he did the design pro bono for a tourism campaign he thought would only last a few weeks. Poor guy. I can only imagine how much he wishes he was getting royalties now.
