I stood up and I said, hey! Yeah!

I'd like to thank everyone who was kind enough to call, text, mail, email, myspace, and facebook me with birthday greetings and gifts over the past few days. I feel very loved.

There was one gift, however, which I was completely not expecting. It was given to me the man who's arm you see in the picture above. After a birthday movie, Megan, Jared, Chateau, and I went to a place called Zozo's in the LES for smoothies. No more than one minute after our arrival, the Flaming Lips "Race for the Prize" began playing throughout the restaurant. I was stunned. "Race for the Prize" is the first track from the album "The Soft Bulletin"--my favorite record of all time. As we sipped our smoothies, the restaurant proceeded to play the entire album song by song. The experience was heightened by the fact that both Jared and Chateau are huge Soft Bulletin fans as well. There was a lot of singing going on.

On the way out I let the man behind the counter know he had made my 25th birthday a day to remember. Naturally, he's a big Soft Bulletin fan too. Because he's against getting his picture taken though, he told me to photograph his arm. He might have thought me to be a little strange, but I had reason. He will never understand how happy he made me that night.
