And you wonder why I never post on my blog anymore

I suppose I should explain exactly what's been going on for the past three weeks.

Well, first I was working on an advertising campaign for the LDS church. Alison and I got selected to pitch our ideas to the guys in Salt Lake who are working on making the new television campaign that'll be out sometime soon. (That means like 2009 probably.) It was probably the coolest thing I've gotten to do thusfar as a college kid.

Then came the big Adidas commercial shoot at Geneva Steel. Imagine spending all night (6pm-4am) in a dark, abandoned warehouse filming a 16-year-old kid kick around a soccer ball. Sometimes I ask myself what I've gotten myself into with all this advertising stuff. Then 3am rolls around and I am on chilling on location where they filmed Kevin Bacon's famous Footloose dance sequence. Just as I'm starting to get high on soda and too many licorice sticks I REMEMBER WHY I CHOSE ADVERTISING.

It's fun.

As if all that wasn't enough excitement for a while, the following Monday my New York Internship application was due. I spent many days recreating and strengthening my old portfolio. If soda and licorice doesn't work to get you high, try excessive amounts of spray mount. It'll do the trick; I promise.

Then I got to help the Ad Club plan a visit from Salt Lake ad agency Richter 7's creative director Dave Newbold. (That's a mouthful.) I got a one-on-one portfolio review session with him too. Nice guy.

I think that's it.

After all the stress was over I left on a cruise to Mexico. More on that to come very soon, I promise. But for right now enjoy this picture of me sailing into Cabo San Lucas.

I've been waiting breathlessly for your return report, while at the same time wanting the cruise to last forever for you.

Dad
